    Hi,
does anyone know if its possible to grow honeydew melons in this country? and whether they grow from seeds saved out of a shop bought melon?.
    Thanks

Yes you can Alison. But you need a greenhouse or polytunnel. We grew a variety of Honeydew a couple of years ago in our small polytunnel. We used bought 'Ogen' melon seed and got a few small melons which tasted fantastic. The following year we sowed some of the seed we'd saved from the melons and managed to get another small crop, but I can't comment on the taste as our son scoffed them!

Brilliant, thanks for that. I do have an unheated greenhouse, do they need to grow in there throughout their growth or just started off in there?
    Thanks again

You'll need to keep them in the greenhouse Alison and you'll also need to get them sown now. Sow in a heated propagator, airing cupboard or sunny window sill then grow on in small pots until your greenhouse has warmed up a bit.
