I got my annual renewal today, £107.78.
Thought I would look up what new members are charged-shock...£79.99.

So I rang up and said that I thought it was not fair, and the lady on the other end said that she would reduce my renewal to the reduced price, no questions asked.

So today I made a good saving.

When my car insurance came up in June, I did the same with my agent, and they matched the reduced price that Saga were offering. I have got into the habit of checking everything, and make telephone calls. These days you cannot afford to pay out for these exhorbitant/inflated prices.

Buyer beware.:doggieshmooze: I have better things that I can spend these savings on.

I always try and get them down to at least what I was paying the previous year with insurance. Otherwise I'm sure other companies will appreciate my custom ;)

      Well done, liliana :yay:

Checking everything is a good habit to have ;) "Loyalty" is no longer the way to make savings with a company (and hasn't been for a good few years!)

Tried that with current companies and even when they try and convince me they are offering the very best quote they can ... another company will take you on as a "new" customer and charge you less again ;)

That fits in with my post on another thread:

If £107.78 was after 30% existing member discount, then the full price would have been about £154, so you probably got them down to approx. 52% discount which fits in with my experience above.

Loyalty counts for nothing these days.

Check and change every year, as above , loyalty will cost you money.
