I hope this doesn't sound too daft.
I want to grow some bamboo in the garden, and I was wondering about keeping it in a pot in the ground, rather than just planting it into a container. When you do this, do you cut the bottom off the pot?
Or do you just put entire pot in with a little "lip" showing above ground level and plenty drainage holes in bottom of your pot?
I have a couple of mint varieties as well and wondered if this applys to them too.
Thanks for any answers in advance. :-)

Hi Linda, i have planted my Black Bamboo in a pot and burried iit n the Border, ive done this with a few plants (easier to take out and overwinter in the Ghouse) there's drainage holes in the bottom with gravel or broken bits of clay pots, and yes do the same with your mint as it stops it from going wild and taking over your border...Dee..
