Hi, used to do a bit of trekking on our moors here (N Yorks) - nothing too strenuous for the horse of course, but I found on some days aches and pains in places I didn't even know I had. - Lots of fun.

Enjoy yourself, and if you do ride on the road, please wear the appropriate gear, even if its a bit 'naff' - the drivers in cars will at least see you.

Love horses , I go riding on the Brecon Beacons the scenery is amazing , plus going along footpaths with a 100 ft drop down can be quite scary I used to have a Dunn 3 1/4 thourabred 16 hands called Ross I had him from a 6 month old foal.
I would love another ( realy like Fresians) yes the horse not the cow !!!! but £££ and time to look after them properley, rather than seeing them just left in a field all over the winter realy gets to me the feed has rocketed in price over the past 12 months, some horses by me were out in all weather in Dec Jan .

Dogs cats horses gardening you cant go wrong

We used to have horses when I was a kid. All got sold when I was in my early teens when the 80's recession wiped out my dad's financial alrightness.

I learnt to ride at 6 years old, two years after I started riding school. We used to ride all over, and like a bat out of hell along the beach sometimes.

I've rode other people's steeds a couple of times since over the years, but nowadays I have to admit I've become a scaredy cat and daren't get on one now. Maybe if someone I know buys a docile old nag I might have a go, but the only person in the family that has a horse these days is my sister, who bought herself a 3 year old race trained thoroughbred (he was cheap because apparently he just didn't cut it as a race horse, poor lad).
