Is there such a thing as a leak free connector for hose / tap?

I use an outside tap, and its one of those that takes 1/2in hose, with a jubilee clip, never leaked.

Most Hozelock type snap on connectors tend to dribble a bit as they age. Don't we all :)
It shouldn't be what you would call a leak, more of a weep. Changing the O-Ring on the male end connector should cure most leaks.

I have a brass outside tap that is threaded on the end and a connector that fits into the hose then screws onto the tap. I've found this to be the only system that doesn't leak. The hose will need a jubilee clip for 'insurance' with the connector. Hozelock is hopeless.

Geka are not cheap compared to the rubbish hoselock fittings, you'll see Geka in nurseries and garden centres. I never tried them, I use hoselink which are pretty much leak free (made in Australia, I got mine on Amazon but can no longer find them for sale).

Ta. Will have a look at the Geka ones and also look at a jubilee clip solution!

I have all the brass fittings but they still dribble everywhere, will try to source some replacement o rings

I find that if I also add some plumber's silicone tape to the threads, leaks are stopped. I have to do this for my low flow irrigation as it is all plastic and of course, wears quickly so the tape eliminates drips.

Using a jubilee clip is a good solution for the tap connection, it's other connections like to the hose reel and to a lance spray where hoselock connectors come loose, pop off or leak.

Yes, will be looking at the hose reel connection too. Everything is ruddy plastic!

I dont have real problems with Hozelock stuff, I find that if to put a bit of grease around the male connectors it sometime makes them fit smoother and not leak quite as much, and it also depends on what you are using and how much pressure you are holding back.

As all of my joints are away from the tap it doesn't really matter if it leaks slightly, especially when you use a spray head and turn the water off from the sprayer.

I've never had a hose reel as my hose is too heavy and long. The weight would rip the reel off the wall.
