This year I have successfully grown my Hosta's as marginals in my pond..It has stopped them being nibbled [IMG] What I now need to Know is..Do I leave them in the pond over the winter, or bring them onto dry land?

I've always treated hostas a moisture and shade-loving plants - not as pond ones. Glad to hear that treating them as marginals has helped the slug problem, though! Must try that, instead of putting them in pots, with a copper tape band!

So - don't know the answer to your question, Poppy - but my inclination would be to bring them out of the pond......

I tried 2 hostas as pond marginals last year and took them out in the autumn and kept them in a bucket each to overwinter, no problem! ;)
