hot backyard

    hi,i have a backyard that is covered in with polyurathine sheeting,so gets very hot in summer up to 100degrees sometimes.about 30 in winter.at the moment i grow only petunias as they do ok in the heat and light.but i wud luv to grow other plants.have tried others but too hot and they grow very leggy.i use pots.dont really want to grow hot house plants eg.orchids etc.hope some one can help me.thanks,poppy1.

    not sure poppy, put some pics on of it ..for size,is it rain n wind proof(air gaps) etc ,if it get good temps then i guess it might be like a green house so you would have lots of options,im only a beginner myself so cant advise sorry x but good luck x

      I reckon rhubarb would do very well in those conditions, provided you don't let it dry out.

        Hi, What about Mediterranean plants, they should be okay if it gets plenty of light. Geraniums should like it, french lavender etc. :sunny:

          thanks joolz,it is wind and rain proof and has a few air gaps but not many.dont know size but decent size.thanks again. poppy 1.
