Hot dry weather Camellias and Rhododendrons

    Given the hot dry weather we are currently "enjoying" don't forget to water the Camellias, Rhododendrons and Azaleas if you want flowers next year. This is the time of year they form flower buds for next year and if they get too dry the buds either abort or don't form. Also these are fairly shallow rooted plants so a mulch will help them; I use composted pine needles as this is quite acidic and I have a good supply of pine needles.
