Is that a commercial product or just something you've made? I made an insulated compost bin out of pallets and left over roof insulation, it certainly works better than a normal compost bin.

Hi I have had one for nearly a yr now, and had 3 loads out of it. I found using a claw type tool makes it easier to get the contents out. I note you say it does not have to be full however the more you put in the hotter and quicker it rots down. Everything goes in mine waste food garden waste etc. Best thing is grass cuttings gets really hot then lol. It was a good buy for me but it is expensive. I now have 3/4 of a bin ready for the garden but will wait until my goliath lilies arive do those first the rest can be scattered around the garden beds.. Hope this helps.

Thanks jono i meant more about you dint have to puts tons in it because its a manageable amount that they say you can put in regularly on their website.

My garden isnt massive so this looked like a good option for the amount i would be able to add as a minimum amount to keep it hot enough

        Does that make any sense?

Andrew I had a wormery but personally I prefer a hit in. As for overwintering a wormery I used to put mine in the garage so no probs with heat. Dips you should not get any smells, if all running correctly. If the airflow gets blocked this can slow the processe but other than that I have had no problems. You may want to start saving waste asap as the bin does take a fair bit to start it heating up, and the fuller it is the quicker it starts.. When starting mine I scrounged a load of old ban and brilliant starting as it gives off the right gases.

can't help a lot with that I affraid I used to have a womery in the garage. If useing a barrel you may want to think of drainage as you don't want to drown the worms... Why not check out the designs of wormerys on google etc:?
