House plant recommendations?

    I have a space left for one more plant on my window sil and want something colourful, with or without flowers. Can some one recommend something as I dont have a great knowledge of whats available.

    You don't say whether your window receives full sun or filtered or hardly any. Not many house plants can stand a sun all day. Crotons and bromeliads (aechmeas/bilbergias/tillandsias)can take more sun than most but choice depends on how much sun/light they will be getting.
