My next door neighbour, who is a lovely old lady, has been in a bad way recently. However the good news she is on the mend.

Right now, loads of her relatives are round, preparing the house for the old lady returning home. Unfortunately one of them has parked their car right over my drive so there's no way I can get my car out.

Part of me says, the person that did it might have assumed I'd know where to ask if I needed it moved. Part of me says they can clearly see that they've blocked my drive and they are taking liberties and showing contempt. However an even bigger part of me says that lately I am letting myself get wound up about the slightest little non-issue and this may be the same.

Part of my garden has been tarmacked so we can park 2 cars off the road, i'm always getting folk park up in it. I tend to stare out of the window at them till they feel my eyes burning into the side of their skull. They very quickly stop what they are doing & drive off.

I'd be mildly annoyed, but only if I wanted to get out Dave. Did you want to ?

I have a similar problem, but try to ignore it.
However when its done when there are obviously places to park, actually right outside the house concerned, but they still block my driveway its not easy.

We have grass verges, and some dont like walking on the grass, so they park across two driveways so they dont get wet shoes.
Also by doing that they make it virtually impossible for the two houses opposite to get out of their driveways.

Its just modern thinking,"I'm alright jack and sod the rest of you".

As a side issue, has anyone noticed how people who are parked, just walk round their cars and open the door to get in, even if a car is overtaking them.
It seems to be happening more and more, they look, see you coming but just continue walking and open the door.
Those are the times I wish I drove a beat up old land rover.

The "i'm alright jack" attitude is good if the jack is accompanied by just enough bricks to stop their wheels touching the road:snork:

Once again, it seems I was letting myself get wound up over nothing. I'm really going to have to sort myself out.

I did have to go out. I went next door, and took the nice as pie approach. The neighbour's relatives were just as lovely as the old lady herself. The car belonged to one of the grand kids, a young lass who promptly moved her car while I was still chatting to the other relatives. I feel like such a plonker for getting wound up. It was exactly as the rational side of me figured. The young lass had had trouble finding somewhere better to park, so had parked over my drive figuring I'd know who to ask if I needed to be out. The thing is, I've done the same myself many times when visiting relatives. I've found nowhere decent to park so parked over the neighbour's drive figuring they'd know who to ask if they needed me to move my car. I seem to be becoming spitefully territorial lately and I don't like myself for it.

You're not alone clueless, I'd be annoyed about it too if I were in that situation, and like you I find myself getting more and more annoyed over the littlest things ... I think it comes with age :-/

                        Clueless1,
we all try most days to be good and help and not hurt others, but some days, just somedays, it don't work out like that. Bless you, you are trying as hard as you can and I think you ought to stop beating yourself up and put your big stick away in the shed ,
