    How are your daffs....
I live near birmingham and they seem to be very late this year
They have only just reached their height and the buds are so tiny
Looks like it will be at least another two weeks before thay start to flower
I was down north devon last week and all theirs were blooming
    How are yours....

garden Daffs are mostly flowering here, along with Narcissi.. woodland edge ones are at full growth, and with buds on, but not flowering just yet, it'll only be a few days though.

I'm in Solihull Caveman and some of mine are only about 3 inches high. I put a lot in this year, but even the older ones seem to be struggling. Hopefully with the temps getting better this week they might get going.

Only the tete a tete in the south facing mindow box are in flower. I have a couple of Planters that I did especially last Autumn and they are still quite a way off flowering I think,

Don't think I will be seeing any flowers for a while - maybe they are waiting for Easter!

I've got daffs in bloom and they are producing a lot of buds this year, that's probably down to all the rain we had last year. However, growth has been erratic and quite a few still haven't appeared.

Well daffs are also called lent lilies Annie ! My tete a tetes ( can't do the accents ) have the flower heads on now . Most others are just peeking through - very late !
Dorothy ,Tulips are the last of the "spring" bulbs to flower , usually the end of March in the tropics of Wigan :blue thumb:

Thank HarryS. I planted loads of tulips in the ground and then the left overs put in some of the empty pots I had hanging around.Did not realise how many pots I had used till I saw them all popping up.:)

Depends on what type of tulips you got, early, mid early, medium, late, very late. Lots of kinds of tulips.

Presently 500 of my bulbs are poking their heads out of the soil, 50,500 more to go before bulb season is over on my property. No did not really count all of them today, but there is a hundred over her, a hundred there, few more hundred etc. We are working on uncovering many from still leaves on our property. Some of my bulbs are yellow green leaves from the covering, just removed today. Early tulips are up, in green, some crocus showing, early daffs. in tuffed groups, lines of more daffs across the side of the house. Found some bulbs that up heaved themselves from the winter, probably in need of thinning, I said oh well and moved on, should go back and give them a hole. And someone will say, hey you don't have that many bulbs, and I will remark, been here 23 years, each year 1,000 were put in. And the past three years we have thinned and thinned. Each 1,000 made X 3 at least, so many in the circle we dug up to plant elsewhere. Do the math. It is tiring, really tiring. Too many clusters of blubs to put elsewhere. And still there are others I'd like to incorporate, like some more alliums down at the heath and heather slope.

They only seem to identify Tulips as early ( March-April ) or lates (April-May ) in the UK . This is on the bags of bulbs in the garden centres . Possibly the specialist sellers will sub divide these categories.
PS - I found a bag of Tulip bulbs I bought last November , will they be OK to plant out this November if kept in a cool dark garage ?
