We have a pergola which is covered by a beautiful wisteria and are having to rebuild a garden retaining wall which has been cracked by the wisteria. We will remove the wisteria and would like to plant another one on the other side of the pergola away from the wall on a grassed area. Is there danger that the roots of the new wisteria could go under the patio? If so, does anyone know what sort of distance to plant the wisteria away from the patio and pergola? Hope this makes sense! Thanks
