(and probably also because the worms are working faster with the warmer weather!) Sounds like you've got it just right!:thumb:

Coo - that is magic! In which case:

'ow come my compost goes down reeeeaallly sloooowwwwly?

I chuck loads of worms in when I am weeding, I have a mix of browns and greens, and things disappear eventually, but I don't think I have had any decent compost out of it ever! I just tend to view it as an outside bin that never needs emptying these days. Would love to use it as compost, but it never happens... any thoughts?

BTW - it is one of those black plastic darlek type bins, sited on top of soil and is "fed" about 4 or 5 times a week with peelings, cardboard, old fruit and veg etc

Dave, I've got one of those. I chuck in about a gall. of water when I add to it. I also use a compost accelerator a couple of times in the Summer. Having said that, the first year it produced very little compost but from the second year onwards I've been shovelling loads out of the bottom panel (in the Autumn). It might just take a bit of time
