Hmmmm, looks like no ordinary weedkiller will cope with that. Maybe jumping on it will eventually wear it down enough for you to pull it out? :D

I hate them. All my friends have them rusting away in the garden with the covers ripped and they look such an eyesore, and take up so much space. The kids hardly use them anyway, but everyone these days have to have one

We had one at school in our Gymnasium, but it took years to raise the money to buy it.I only went on it once and wasn't that impressed. My friends two children clashed on theirs and the three year old broke her leg and was in plaster for a month, and had great difficulty getting around. The problem is as well they take so long to set up that the parents just leave them. You also have to have a garden big enough to accomadate them

At least there is a net surrounding it. At school we weren't allowed on unless there was at least 2 people down each long side and 1 on each short side for health and safety and that was when we could do all sorts of silly things like conkers, climbing trees, etc. They are dangerous. Would you need public liability insurance should a neighbours child fall off? [IMG] :D

I did a lot of trampolling many moons ago and it is a very dangerous sport, even when its well supervised. One of those nets would not prevent someone landing on their neck and breaking it :(
Having said that, I suppose anything that makes kids excercise is good - but I think these may be another 'buy them one so we dont have to make the effort to take them anywhere for their exercise' things.

I agree they are a total eyesore. Is this better Brackenbeds?

Several solutions spring to mind: -

    1. Paint the outer 2 feet bright yellow, lean it against a wall and think of it as a giant sunflower.

    2. Secure the center point to the ground and fill with soil ... instant raised bed.

    3. Secure the center point to the ground with a quick release catch. Fill with all the snails you can find, then let them fly .. your snail problem is now everyone elses snail problem [IMG]

I hope i won't get clobbered BUT .....i have a 10ft trampoline and its the best thing i ever got my 8 year old daughter.I help out alot in her school and the goverment thinks 1 hour a week PE is enough....i think thats terrible(and alot of kids are very over weight)! So alot of parents offer their free time for after school and lunch time clubs .From various sports such as skipping and football.
My daughter is abit chubby and she is constantly on her trampoline and my elderly neighbours think shes hilarious to watch .This is as much enjoyment for her as it is some exercise.

So in my case i am all for them [IMG]
Then again if i had kids jumping late at night using not so nice language i might change my mind [IMG]

I think they are the worst thing that could have been invented. They are ugly, large, dangerous, and they all should be destroyed....

We never had such things when I was a kid,we used to go to the local park and down to the river to make our own amusement and it was free apart from the bandie nets we bought and the occassional ice lolly...

They are the must have toy of the moment, and if you don't have one you are looked down on.What's wrong with parents taking their kids to the local park and playing with them rather than shove them out in the garden to play on the ugly things...

The neighbours at the bottom of our garden have just bought one,and all I can see from my kitchen window is multi coloured poles and black netting. In the winter months they don't even get used they just sit there with their covers rotting in the frost and snow. What a waste of good money
