Liquid feed? can you give me clue as to what to look for, brand names? thanks gingernutsman, also will it grow next year or is it just a summer plant thanks again.
I have loads of argyranthemums, they are so versatile in the borders or in pots. I always take cuttings of them in Autumn and overwinter them in the greenhouse - very easy. I don't feed them particularly, they just get the general sloosh with plant feed disolved in the watering can, same as everything else.
thanks for your reply so if i dont take any cuttings, at the end summer when it die`s down, will it not be back next year?:thumb: as you can see am totally novice to gardening lol... :o
Hi Scooby - I love Argyranthemums. They are a tender perennial, and very long flowering. They will overwinter outside in Torquay, but not in the Midlands, I fear. You need to overwinter it in a greenhouse, or similar. I have a frost free summerhouse, with a reasonable amount of light and keep a lot of things over winter. But I do sometimes lose plants. The fault is usually mine - not watering them enough or something similar. So it is a good idea to take cuttings to cover that possibility. Generally, any plant in a pot needs watering every day ( a bit less perhaps if it is cool and overcast) and feeding once a week. I usually feed with Miraclegrow early in the season, which is a good balanced feed. Then when they start to flower I switch to Phostrogen, which is a solid feed similar to Miraclegrow, but has extra Potassium, which is good for flowers and fruit. Any tomato feed does the same job as Phostrogen, but they are usually liquids and more expensive, as you are buying mostly water.
peters thanks for your reply, thats very help full, i will have to loose the plant at the of the summer then as i dont have a greenhouse lol, as for the feeding thanks again steve..
