How do they make it pay?

and why do I bother when I can buy this for 75p

I bought this from a florist - not dicounted, there are three bulbs and 15 flowers, I could not buy bulbs for this let alone plant pot and compost.

 

Because most gardeners get a buzz out of "growing your own" even if it is no cheaper than buying but I know what you mean.

 

i wish i`d ordered lavender plugs earlier this year whilst on offer in T&M.would have saved myself alot of heartache,but then again, God loves a trier.

 

Hi, I've just ordered a lavender collection from J.Parker for �£2.45, also a number of other much reduced plants. Have a look! You also get a free camellia....
I grew some lavender from seed 3 years ago, took ages to get going, but the end result is 3 [only] nice big plants about 15" high and wide.

 

I wonder if you put them out in the garden if they would survive through the winter and come up next spring? If so then you got a real bargain.

 

Oh yes I have done that. when I unpotted them they also had loads of little baby bulbs round them so they should make good full displays next year. I have fed them well too.
