Our old plum tree seems to be getting thinner and losing branches every year.:sad::sad:

No obvious insect damage, (nibbles on some leaves, but most seems fine), fruits well on the live branches. It's at least 30 years old, but maybe more like 45 or perhaps more.
Is this it in natural decline?
Soil is deep, rich, surrounded by few flowers and then lawn. Should I feed it something to reinvigorate?
