Just tidying up my shed, I found a nearly full bag of cement. No good any more. The moisture gets in and it sets in the bag. I have another bag in the greenhouse that is doomed to go the same way. Its left over from my failed attempt at lining the pond with concrete before I conceded defeat and bought a butyl liner.

More than once, while helping my dad, we've come across 3/4 full bags of cement there too, all set like rock. I'm pretty sure that in every garden, there is at least one bag of ruined cement.

How many bags of cement have you lost over the years?

It's a Lore or a tradition or something that in every shed, everywhere, there is always a bag of concrete that has gone hard. Even in places that have never seen concrete!
Yep, I read Robert Rankin. :heehee:

I always buy Mastercrete, it costs a few pence more than standard cement but comes in a weatherproof plastic bag. I'm still using bags that I bought 3 years ago and they have been stored outside. They are way past their "use by date" but good enough for jobs around the garden.

You've just pointed the one advantage of not being a DIY person. There's never anything left over in my shed as I never buy anything :lunapic 130165696578242 5:
