how much does compost weigh?

wamt to go and get some bagged compost at the weekend . it comes in bags of 60 litres and you get four bags for a tenner so wondered if weight wise i could get 8 bags in my car without any ill effects??

 

They normally come packed tight aswell, rather than just loose.

 

One of our cars is a scenic and normally we get 3 huge 100 litre bags of gear for the garden in it easy so I should imagine 8x 60 shouldn't be too hard going on your car shockers.....that's unless you have a classic mini and then your shockers will really pop through the boot and I should know it's happened many times in the pass when I refused to drive any other car than a mini!Hel.xxx.

 

weight will not be a problem however i have an astra and can only fit 6 into the boot its more to do with the space you have rather than weight

 

I agree with Barra I have an astra and I get 4 in the boot easy and I would get another 4 if I put the back seats down they are 80 litre bags from wickes 4 for �£10

I went onto wickes web site but that offer never came up at all and I had a look as I had seen someone else mention it!!

When I got 3 bags for �£10 from home base last week they were 70ltrs last year they were the same price but 80ltrs,if they don't get you one way they get you the other.
