how to cook lamb chops?

    i am looking for the best way to cook lamb chops. i have never cooked lamb chops , and i have been given a gift of 6 very thick lamb chops,and i have not got a clue how to cook them!!. any ideas please? :scratch: music.:doh:

    Lucky you :) The easiest way to do them is on a really hot cast iron plate or pan, cooking till just past pink in the middle, but with a really good searing on the outside. I often will take a bit of mint jelly and put it in the pan (if flat bottomed) or on the griddle and it gives a lovely minty caramelised flavour to the outer edges. I don't tend to do alot of sauces or herbs/spices with lamb, as I just love the flavour of the lamb itself. Goes well with just lightly steamed veges (asparagus, baby corn, baby carrots) and a baked potatoe and sour cream with chives.
    I hope you enjoy your lamb chops whatever you do with them - just don't overcook them :)

    Similar to you also Natalie. I keep it simple, caste iron skillet, olive oil, garlic, salt pepper, a few mins on each side and that s it. Love keeping the flavor of the lamb itself as you do Natalie, not muck it up with extras.

    :thumb: Yep totally agree Red.... Although........ I do sometimes like to cook some onions with the chops & then make the gravy in the pan.. I do the same with pork chops too sometimes.. Yumm... :dh::D

    Reminds me my butcher makes a really awesome lamb sausages. So good, just a saute in skillet with olive oil, yumm, don't need to add a thing.
