Hi Kathy, Just like Daila's, Begonias just need to be frost free.
You could leave them in the baskets or pots, but you will run the risk of overwintering vine weevil hiding in there.. Which would cause you a problem as the eggs will hatch & the grubs will eat your corms..!

:thmb: I was told that the best way is to let the frost touch them and natural die back then occurs & all the goodness will then go back into corms. When this happens I empty mine out, dry mine on newspaper in the greenhouse in the sun. Then any loose compost left on I gently brush off, but be very careful not to damage the corm, then I pack mine in dry sawdust..
A cardboard box in a shed or garage is usually best so they are in shade but moisture free.
If you can keep the corms over winter your plants should be even bigger next year and some blooms can get as big as saucers in years to come so I am reliably told by the guy who always grows beauties.. I have followed his instructions for years, but I an still waiting for the saucer size blooms..... :dh::hehe:

Great tip about packing corms in dry sawdust, Marley. Now I know just what I'm going to do with mine when they're finished.
