How would you go about drying chillis and peepers so the seeds are able to plant?

You dont need to dry them, just as long as the fruit is ripe you can sow them straight away.
In fact I find moist seed germinates much better. [IMG]

    Isn't there a problem if it's a F1 Hybrid using the seed ?

Parental properties and the like ?

I may be completely wrong. :D

Thanks for that tip Pete didn't know that moist pepper seed is better to sow than dry ones. Maybe that's why my seeds haven't germinated yet? Hel.xxx.

Vegman, I think you are right, F1 hybrids are not likely to come true from seed.
    Having said that.

I always grow sweet peppers from supermarket fruit seed, and it works OK.
I can only assume that just the one generation on, is not that different from the original.
They do seem to be self fertile, just a tap of the flowers pollenates them, so maybe its in the genes, I dont know.

Same here Pete, I always use seed from supermarket peppers and Chilli seeds come from chillis that have been in the freezer for months and germinate OK.
They are not as perfect as the shop ones but they are home (work :D ) grown and that's what counts.
