Hi, my hedge was partly destroyed by neighbours using weed killer in their garden which spilled over to my side and ruined the hedge but since then ivy has started to grow. I was previously advised to grow an ivy hedge instead but it's just clumping at certain points instead of growing all over the hedge so I was wondering what's the best way to grow it evenly so that it forms a proper hedge, all over? Check the photo to get a better idea of what I mean, thanks. The far left is the last surviving part of the normal hedge and then moving right for the next two thirds it's the dead hedge with the ivy growing up. Ivy is also covering the ground all around the base of the hedge. How do I even it out so that the ivy forms a proper hedge?
Any ideas or thoughts about this please? Also concerned that the actual stem of the hedge has deteriorated completely (as can be seen behind the green wheelie bin) and that the whole hedge might eventually disappear and crumble unless I take some action?
