Worst case scenario (as laundry goes). The lad and I went on the summer camp with our new martial arts club. It involved training in our white suits on grass in bare feet.

So, how do I get rubbed in grass and mud stains out of white cotton fabric?

I've seen adverts for products that claim to do it, but realistically, these things are rarely as clever as the ads would suggest.

    Any tips?

Try 'Vanish stain remover' and if that doesn't work resort to meths.

I must have led a sheltered life as I could only find by Googling How to Remove Grass Stains From:

        A Wedding Dress
        Jordans (Jordan's what?)
        Pants
        Toms

Depends whether it's just a few spots or whether it's extensive. You can spot clean with several branded stain removers (Stain Devil is the one I would use) but acetone should work too. You can try rubbing ordinary laundry liquid into the stain before washing on a cool wash. If all else fails, as they're cotton (check they're not synthetic mix), you could soak them in a solution of ordinary household bleach and water overnight, but you may find you smell a bit like a clinic next time you wear them.

I think it's because acetone dissolves acrylic and gel nails.

Of course, the quickest way of getting rid of Staines is to nuke Middlesex.
