I haven't been able to figure out how to add someone to my Buddy List (I tried adding Victoria, but couldn't work out how, and she has tried adding me and apparently can't figure it out either)

    Am I just being blind-as-a-bat?

Got both of you guys .. hope you've got me ... [hr]
Oh dear me .. I have to speak again ...

Kristen .. you have to go into Your Buddy link and type in my name and roders and anyone else you like (they may not like you on this new system but let's forget that ...) ... then they will be your buddies .. but on this new system they do not know this .. does this make sense to you ................????????????????

I added you, Kristen yesterday to my Buddy List,(trying it out) just to let you know. A bit pointless really!

Adding someone to your Buddy list makes it easy to send them a PM or Email, or to get to their profile / posts etc.

That seems reasonable to me (not useful to me, as my preference is to discuss/share info in public, but if I was wanting to contact "buddies" privately it would certainly be useful).

Thus it seems reasonable to me ...

But it is different to the old system which was an agreement between two people to "announce" that they were buddies. That seemed popular (although I didn't use that either!)

So ... its just differently useful?

Help me out here: Is it helpful to know that Person-A and Person-B have both indicated that they are friends? I'm probably being a dinosaur, but if I understood why folk wish to have that feature I am sure it would help me get onto the right wavelength.

Maybe this sort of thing is common in FaceBook et al (which I also don't use ...) and thus very familiar to most people (well ... everybody except me!)

    !! Stop press !!

    Just read another post

    http://gardenerscorner.co.uk/forum/Thread-Add-Buddies.html?pid=404955#pid404955

that the two-way features have been turned on (haven't checked it though)

But if you have a moment to explain why you like that feature I'm still all ears :)

Im not bothered either way Kristen, apart from being easier to PM one of your friends on the list and if someone sends you a friend request, you think Awwwww isn't that nice lol.

Gosh, I'm back here again ... :heehee:

It's all well and good asking people to be your Buddy/Friend and they respond and say yes they would like to be .. but somehow they don't appear on your Buddy/Friend list because they have not asked you to be their Buddy/Friend ... maybe there's a message here ... :dodgy:

PS ... and it's very limiting with the Smilies one can use ...
