Greetings all, I've had a small tree blow down in one of the recent storms and it's opened up a decent sized area by the side of my garage that could do with some TLC. (Pic attached)

I'm going to tidy it up by getting rid of all the old brash that has built up over the years but after that I'm not sure what would be best to plant in there. It's east facing so gets a good amount of morning sun but not much in the afternoon so I'd need to avoid anything needing a good dose of full sun.

The trellis is already there on the side of the garage so wouldn't mind making use of that but not sure what would flourish there do to the lack of afternoon soon. There's obviously been something there in the past but it was before our time and it's now long gone.

Any suggestions more than welcome, thanks!

Welcome to GC Dant27, that trellis is crying out for a fan-trained rose and a clematis, with something low and evergreen at the base. Hebe, Daphne, Sarcoccoca..something along those lines :)

It would help if you put your location.

        Hi Victoria,
That looks lovely. I'm up in the Yorkshire Dales and as such, that blue sky in your pic looks very foreign to me

Not sure my wife would speak to me again if she saw the price of that!
