    I have one of the following tools which I bought early last year but yesterday was the first time I went to use it.I thought it would easy to cut cabbages with but the blade will not cut anything.Can anyone tell what it's uses are.Thanks

      Hi,

      Does it need a good sharpening ? If cutting Brassica stems they can be tough though.

        Hi,
        You could use sandpaper, the type for use on metal objects, that will sharpen it really well.
        If you use 120 grade it should be okay, ( use it with a sanding block. ) :)

          I reckon my old bread knife would make a better job rather than one that comes out of the ark.

              Looking at the quote @Scrungee has put up it appears it's only for soft growth. Cabbage stems are not usually soft :noidea:

              For things such as thick brassica stems I've always used a small pair of bypass loppers. Probably not particularly professional but it makes the job easy.
