I have tonnes of the stuff all stacked up at the back of my garden it's going to cost me a small fortune to skip it all.

I don't want to lay a path with it was thinking raised beds has anybody got any suggestions or ideas what it could be used for.

I'd Freecycle it. You'd be amazed what other people will snap up! I'm not sure how you could use it for raised beds, though someone else may have a bright idea.

We did a raised bed with some once by using the cp to build like a dry stone wall. You can leave all sorts of nooks and crannies, and leave odd angles jutting out. These make good homes for all sorts of rockery plants that don't like sitting in too much compost. Lewisias, Cerastium and Campanulas spring to mind.

Maybe give Ebay/Gumtree a go. We were having alterations done to the house last year and a large concrete lintel was taken out to make way for French doors being installed. The concrete lintel got a bit broken getting it out. This damn thing lay about being a nuisance. 1 of the workmen suggested with a big grin that I could always sell it on Ebay. More as a joke than anything else I duly advertised it on Ebay describing it accurately and stating it was a bit broken. Bingo sold it to somebody for 99p, result and delighted to have got rid of it. The purchaser almost gave himself a hernia getting it into his trailer tho!!! He wanted it to do some sort of rockery in his garden (gawd not sure it would look good at all but that's his problem) What have you got to lose? and you just might be lucky to get rid of it for a "profit":)

Make Alpine Crevice Beds. They're perfect for the job. Look up the Alpine Gardening section on this forum for ideas of what to plant. I've seen pictures of enormous crevice beds (one's recently gone in in Edinburgh) and they look fantastic.
