I guess this is hello, from the most accident-prone, bodge-it yourself,
most useless gardener in the entire history of gardening!!!
The above sentence means that I will be asking questions - as I strive to
master that black art of "not" killing the plants ;)
Ok, about the "garden" - I use that term very loosely as it is really just a grassy strip - and the grass is just an extension of the fields behind us!

I have gave myself some goals for this chunk of land:

A safe place for our 12 month old Twins to play
A wee vegetable plot (to grow Tatties and Tumshies) and encourage the
kids when they're a wee bit older to get involved
A lawn that doesnt need much looking after, and wildlife/flower friendly, where the kiddiewinks can roll and tumble about.
Wildflowers (local species preferred) to bring some colour to this drab bit of ground
Fix my dodgy patio and make it safe :o
Oh and must be organic - no nasty chemically things, and I think I will make use of reclaimed things - rather than plastic pots etc
I've already got my compost bin, as my grass cuttings are too much for the garden recycle bin!! So I've been filling it with grass/veg/paper...
And my birdie feeders for the wee sparrows and robins and other garden chooks
I only need to convince the wifey that I can do this, and that I won't rupture any gas pipes or unexploded bombs :D

    and again Hello :)

    "Sausage Fingers" Graham

      Thanks Guys...
Fun? There's wee sneaky beasties in the garden with more legs than the Queens dining table... eek!!! I can just see me now running aboot like a big girls blouse!
Seriously though, I am looking forward to getting stuck in, it's just getting some time to get started, in the meantime, it will be pencil & paper and a lot of research and convincing (begging) the wife to let me loose...

Hi Graham, welcome to Gardeners Corner. It's sounds as though you've got ambitions for your garden, as you seem to have defined exactly what you want to do with it:thumbsup:

      Thanks guys,
This is going to be a time consuming process me thinks, especially to begin with, as I can only really get started when the twins are sleeping, or the wife isn't working!

Today, I'm helping one of my older daughters with her portfolio thingy for college, so camera in hand, double-buggy in t'other, hopefully going to get her to take some good nature/wildlife shots for college (although its hard to camoflage a bright red pram, and 2 very loud tots!!!)
While she's doing that, I'll use my old camera, and take piccys of local wildflowers for ideas, and the way they blend in..

I also see there's a 'projects' part, so mabye I'll start my own string and chart my progress along the way...

      G

ps Thanks for the warm welcomes :D
