I planted some Hyachinths in bowls to flower over the winter - which they did very nicely. I cut off the flower heads and left them green in the bowls.

I usually plant them in the garden at this stage, but just wondered if it is successful to plant them up again inside?

    Thank
    Janet

Probably not, there is not usually enough food in the compost used to build the bulb up to flowering size over summer.

they do not grow well a second year inside, keep putting outside they grow much better due to the extra nutrients available in the ground.
the bulbs you buy for winter flowering have usually been treated to do just that.

Thanks all, I had thought that may be the case, but I am getting a bit bulbed up in my garden. I think the answer may be to start a flower bed for cut flowers.
