Well I bought this rose from B&Q think it was called something like "mothers delight?" Thinking it was a climber only to find out it was a hybrid tea.

Is it mean't to look like this? I mean look at it, its like a bean pole. Its going to be more stalk than anything else. I suppose it needs pruning but I'm not sure how to do it.

Not a patch on Woo unfortunately but my advice for what it is worth,

You can prune it down to around knee height just above an outward facing bud, it should be very easy to see them now as they are all sprouting-the idea being that you can have an open plant with grows outward in the shape of a bowl. Remove all the dead or damaged twigs, feed it spray with some bordeau mix and away it will go.

You can get some Hybrid Teas to grow tall enough to qualify as useful climbers.:)

If you want a climber leave it and see how it develops. :gnthb:

Thanks so much guys. I can't get over how helpful everyone is on this forum. Woo, after a long search I've found it online. Its not "Mothers Delight" but "Mothers Joy" its pink and apparently a hybrid tea and floribunda.

Armed with your advice I am going to prune it. (poor thing) Wish me luck X
