I.D. Please - For A Visiting Nephew

    Our nephew is over from the U.S. is touring around and has taken these photos in Ireland. He is asking what the tree is (looks as though it is more than one tree) and are the growths on the tree(s) epiphytic?

    Any ideas?

    I'd guess lime trees.
    Can't see anything other than moss growing on the trees.
    Must admit there seems to be some strange growth in places but looks to me like the actual tree itself.

      That's what I thought but the tree has certainly got a lot of sprouting branch growth. I'm not sure what the plant is that appears to be climbing the lower part of the tree in the third picture.

      Yeah I see what you mean, it appears to be some kind of deciduous shruby plant, with serrated leaves.
