    can someone please I D these flowers for me, i'm a total beginner with gardening and i think they may be quite common, but no luck in any local garden centres.

    Look like some kind of Dianthus to me other than that I havn't got a clue

    Pinks or dianthus

    I agree - they are dianthus. Garden pinks by their known name. Lovely flowers, and the perfume can be great.
