    A couple of years ago, when I bought this place, the garden was non-existant.
    Total freedom to "do my own thing", :wow:, so I did, and am still, very much doing, so.
    One of the first things I did was I have a Cornish Hedge built. For the uninitiated, that is the wall in the image.
    This part of the garden, I just very roughly opened up and spread Digitalis and Hollyhock seed to give it some colour till I decided what else I wanted from it.
    The Digis did sort of OK, the HH less so. C'est la vie.:gaah:
    So to the present.....
    I created a raised bed, filled with good quality compost, mixed with a bit of sieved soil (to remove the rocks and 40 yr old builders' rubbish).
    Planted Digi and HH seed again, one of the original Digis and planted 4 different Hedychium.
    Now to see what happens.:please::dunno::please: P1080251 - small.jpg

      What are the 4 different Hedychiums that you have planted.

      Just checked my records. 4 plants, 3 varieties
      Hedychium gardnerianium x 2
      H. coronarium
      H. densiflorum ‘Assam Orange’
      The H. coronarium is a lot smaller than the others as that is a replacement for one that failed, for some reason.
