I got one as well...Thought I saw movement out of the corner of my eye whilst watering the garden and there it was on the path I nearly stepped on it... as we don't have any water around wondered if it could be a small toad?

Smooth skin frog, warty skin toad. They actually travel quite a distance - I have no water in my garden but there is a pond in the neighbourhood, and I got both frogs and toads, to my delight.

Hi everyone, the eating/patio area in my garden is quite dense at the moment, and while eating alfresco the other evening, our out door ashtray (terracotta pot holder,Hubby not aloud too smoke in house rain or shine,)Became a hive of activety on investigation four frog's were all trying to get in the pot at the same time which is only four inches in width, they all managed but looked awfully uncomfortable, I now make sure there's water available every night.

    Kind Regards Sallyann.

My wild life pond was a bubbling cauldron of tad's earlier, now there are frogs every where. I had to gently sweep them out of the grass before mowing last night. The wife runs like hell if they hop near when she's hanging out the washing. :D

Go for it. You will be amazed how quickly the wildlife move in. We ended up with two ponds, one with fish and the other for anything else that happens along.

    Spoke without thinking there!
Just saw a grass snake about to take a frog in the fish pond. Yesterday and today at 4pm we were watching frogs leave the pond and thought they were off on a jolly to next doors pond. Now we know why.... Survival!! Don't know how, butI'll have to put a stop to his tricks.

We have recently found a frog in our lavender too. I thought it was a one off and he had got a bit lost, but that was a few weeks ago and I just found him again whilst watering the lavender. As I was watering, he jumped towards me and made me jump out of my skin! As far as I know, no one in our Close has a pond.

    Hi
We have a small pond in our garden, and like yours we have to sweep the tiny frogs out of the way before we can mow the lawn.I clear a small section hand them to my grand daughter who is 6 she puts them in the pond and my husband mows that bit takes ages to mow this time of year but worth it to try and keep them alive.

I have no water in my garden either, but frogs I got a plenty - and very welcome. Usually only seen when disturbed, or I water. Even before my neighbour had a pond, they were there- but I understand that once leaving the pond they can travel quite a distance, only returning to water to breed.
