I heard the cuckoo today

    I was in the garden this morning and heard the cuckoo for the first time this year

    :) There dosn't seem to be as many as there used to be ,I have just been to Cumbria and was so pleased to hear one there.........not heard one in Suffolk yet though.

    There's been cuckoos cuckooing right in front of our warehouse every year for the past 30 years. This year is no exception. They always start in April.

    If you heard a cuckoo cuckooing non-stop in front of you, you'd soon lose affection for them. They just don't stop cuckooing.

    I'm thinking of applying for a licence for a shotgun! :hehe:

    I must say, however, the amount of other birdsong we hear is extraordinary and it's the first thing all new visitors to our warehouse comment on.

    There not been any sitings (or hearings:D) of Cuckoos here this Spring which is surprising a the wetland reserve here is teeming with Reed and Sedge Warblers, two of the Cuckoo's main hosts.
