I am new to all this gardening business so I've been learning the hard way.

I had bald areas where I heavily pruned my cherry-plum trees. I also had logs from the trees sitting on an area of grass for a while as I was tackling the garden that had many many years of serious neglect. I also removed a concrete path from the middle of the garden, so all in all, there was large areas of missing grass.

I planted new grass, rolled the garden with a heavy roller, really getting on well! Then I decided to use Roundup weed killer as there were heavy patches of weeds. It said be sure not to get spray anywhere else as it'll kill everything it touches. So! I made sure I only sprayed the weeds leaves very carefully. Well, despite that, I'm managed to kill an area of lawn around 2m square. Plus various dots elsewhere around the garden. :D

To say I'm unhappy is an understatement really.

I've watered the area thoroughly and also fed it with Miracle Grow. I killed it about a week and a half ago. It has gradually spread. I can't really tell if it's continuing to spread, I'm almost sure it's stopped now.

Grass will always grow! So should I just wait it out and it'll eventually turn green again if I continue to feed and water, or am I really ******ed?

    A**e! :o

Has the Roundup stopped doing its bit now though? It's 'meant' to stop when it touches the mud. Like it was meant to only kill the weeds.

If I put new grass down, it won't be affected by the weed killer stuff still will it?

As you say,the 'mud :D'/soil should be ok.
I think you have mist sprayed over a bigger area than you intended that's all.
Use 'Feed and Weed' in future m8;)

I'm ashamed to look at it. I'll see what I can do. :D
My first posts here seem to be about my Frank Spencer-esque attempts at gardneing so far. :D

For future benefit, For lawn weeds use a turf selective weedkiller eg Verdone extra.

Just think of all the weeds you have got rid off before you start again. Just remember like what Pal says weed and feed next time.

Lol I have to admit to my great shame that I over fed the lawn with weed and feed and have been rewarded for my silly antics with a very scorched lawn it looks so terrible.

Can I just get away with reseeding the whole area or am I just doomed?:(

Also if I am able to get away with reseeding is there a waiting period between the treatment and reseeding? Hel.xxx.

    Brind,

spray the whole. Most of us will have lawns(?) that could do with being re-started and just coming into the Autumn is ideal - seed or turf.

Thanx for that sweetie you don't know how relieved I am to hear that, I was going to get rid of the grass earlier on in the year but decided it might be best to keep it so as you can imagine I was well gutted when I thought I had killed it off.Hel.xxx.

    I seriusly doubt it.

Scratch up the areas with a springine rake and seed them.
