Thought I would throw this one out to the creative minds that we have here on GC - I need your suggestions ladies and gents.

    The background:

Back in 2009, I began developing a database system to record daily events that occur during a business day ) think similar to the police CAD system, and you have got the idea) - it rapidly proved to be popular with users whilst proving its usefulness in respect of data retrieval etc, and was rolled out to every location in our fleet.

Last year, I revisited the project, initially to improve stability and efficiency, but as I went I learned more and more and ended up launching a revised system that did even more almost a year to the day (exactly 1yr and 17 days :snork:) ; this update proved so successful with my immediate team that more requests/ideas came flooding in and I have been working on them ever since. I reckon I will be ready to launch the (current) final version in around 4 weeks, however it has grown so significantly (it really is a monster now) that I feel it needs a proper 'name'.

There is another piece of software related to my industry, which is known by the name of the mountain range near to where it comes from - - I won't name it, but suffice to say that if it was Northumberland, it would be called Cheviot... whether that may be part of a naming strategy (places/mountains etc), I have no idea.

Now, this system controls (amongst other things):

    - Daily events (CAD style, unique referenced)
    - Staff Uniform Ordering
    - Staff Training
    - Vehicle Availability
    - Vehicle fitness/unfitness status
    - Daily vehicle work allocation (which vehicle did what work on what day)
    - Staff performance
    - Site Key Performance Indicators performance
    - Internal auditing of two key areas, both legal requirement
    - Near instantaneous email alerts to key senior staff in the event of a serious incident
    - Control of associated equipment fitness for each vehicle, including fault reporting and repair history
    - Control of 'staff to see managers' lists
    - Fully paperless reporting
    - Control of public feedback/complaints
    - Four-weekly payroll statement production (in-build at the moment)

Erm.... the rest has fallen off the top of my head now, but suffice to say it does just about everything.

The original system was simply known as the Log or the Daily Log - - - but that doesn't really cut the mustard any more.

So, I am looking for something catchy, clever, maybe even descriptive....?

My field of work for those that don't know is public transport, I come from SW Scotland although lived in the Edinburgh area, and now live in Surrey and the predominant focus of our business is in London (although this system has already been showcased to the global group).

Fire away folks - and humour is also great providing I can get away with it.

My team and I did try some acronyms, but got as far as Fully Automated Reporting Technology System and thought we had best give up as our minds were going to lead us astray.....

    Over to you...........

Not ideal, I agree, but at least it does have a link to its original name :heehee:
I will have to sleep on it, and have a think :)

Impressive and comprehensive, so how about General Overall Database.
Those it controls will probably call it Big Brother (not the TV show).
How about Napoleon, he had a reputation for micromanagement, was pretty successful and some of his innovations still help run France. (Code Napoleon)

A company I once worked for had them as a client.

                          http://www.buststop.com/info.html

EDIT: That link is probably not the one I was looking for. Anyway, Bust Stop is (or was) a UK based company that specialised in bras for the more amply endowed ladies.
