Thank you Marley and Loopy...the tidy up starts tomorrow...finishes in a year or so..:D

Just had a look at your site Pepper...I would NEVER buy from a site that was only half heartedly made...takes but a few mins to add a few pages and make a site a site. Seeds for you is part baked in my opinion...And I would certainly never buy from someone who "SPAMS"...if you need to spam...its because the business has no credibility.

    Steve...:)

Here are a few photo's of the allotment, it looks like primarily it was used for chickens as it is penned off with little rat runs between structures and fences...so I'll have my work cut out to open it all up again. Something to get stuck into and a longterm project.

After a tidyup, this is where I will probably start digging/planting first.

To the very left of this fence is a Beck (stream), the ground on the left is very soft and spongy.

    Apple tree here

These next two look like an old compost area...

A few fruit trees already in situ..one in blossom.

    Another pen..

Starting today I'll be cleaning up the tall shed (previously used as a chicken coup but not for very long) and securing it so I can use as a shed. Then I can get some tools down there, and start work.

    Steve...:)

(All of these photos are panoramas, multiple photo's stitched together. Therefore there will be some distortion in them in places)

Wow!!! That's a large allotment but congratulations :yho:

There's an enormous amount of work to be done but having seen the way you did your garden I'm sure you have it all planned :gnthb:.

In the soggy area you could grow rice :hehe:

    That's brilliant news Steve!
Looks like you got plenty space there and quite a bit of wood and metal to construct things with (once you've finished the destruction!) You got a great project ahead of you and I wish you every success.

As Alys Fowler says- "It's the process not the sudden transformation that matters....don't try to do it all at once......"

Yes its one of the largest allotments and will definately take a good few years to get on top of, in the very first photo above is the area I'll be working first..starting this week as that used to have a polytunnel and greenhouse on..so is reasonably cultivated but just needs clearing of weeds and rubbish. The large "L" shaped grassy area will be covered for at least this year. Thats as far as I have got planning wise. I've managed to clean up and secure the tollshed so far.

    Steve...:)

Congratulations on getting your allotment Steve.I am sure you will have many happy hours getting it round to something decent in which to grow fantastic fruit and veg which will taste better than all the chemically sprayed stuff that the supermarkets sell:D
