A couple of new neighbours have moved in. They seem in their mid 30s as is the way these years.
Skips out the front and builder's vans all over the shop. I'm thinking OK, my stuff's a bit old, the kitchen's a bit small and desperately outbid fashion, but it's functional. Why bother? I'd rather play in my garden.

We’ve always bought and moved into houses that have seen better days. So we have naturally torn out old baths and kitchen sinks as we have gone along. But we have also kept some things that look almost old enough to be antique. We got an ancient bath re enamelled once and it was a great success. Our current laundry room had solid wood units that the previous owner made. Not beautiful, but sturdy and well made.

Create a list... and try to remember what you called the list... "list" would be a good name!

We were discussing this sort of thing quite recently. We have been here 52 years, changed the kitchen and bathroom once, when we had an extension done, are on our second settee and armchairs, our second carpets and still on our original curtains that Mrs Shiney made. I think we have painted the walls about four times and changed all the windows once.

Each time we bought good quality and they have certainly been worth the price. We're on our second fridge, second freezer, third washing machine and second tumble dryer. The dishwasher is still the original but can't remember when that replaced me.

I'm now on my fourth car (hope to keep it for at least another ten years) and Mrs Shiney is on her second car.

If things still work OK and look OK we can't see any point in changing them. :noidea:

If it is going into the attic throw it out.
