I think I've ruined my lawn.

The other day, after cutting back a few tree branches, I decided to give my lawn a good scarifying.

After finishing and clearing up I went indoors, the sight from the kitchen window made me wonder if I had done the right thing at the wrong time.

I scratched up an awful lot of dead grass and debris but it now looks like soil with a bit of grass thrown in.

When I did it the ground was damp.

Will the lawn recover in time for spring or will I have to sow over the top of the whole lawn?

Pip, don't worry. My lawns look like that every time I scarify them and after a few weeks they are green again. At this time of year you'll not get much new growth but the view from your kitchen should improve when the weather warms up in the spring.
You did leave it a bit late though  :D

Phew!!! What a relief, never had a lawn before and although I have an idea what needs to be done I don't know quite how and when to do it.

It will all come right in the end especially with helping hands from yourself and everybody else on this great forum [IMG]
