ID help?Can you name this plant?

    This plant has sprung up in a sunny corner by the wall in my garden and I am not sure whether it is a friend or foe. Can you help me identify it before I dig it up?!!

    Hi Limetree, and welcome. That looks as if it could be Leycesteria formosa (Himlayan honeysuckle or Pheasant Berry).

    People will pay good money for it in a garden centre. Its a shrub with almost bamboo like stems that can reach up to six or more feet. Its never a problem. It self seeds a little bit, as you have found - but not much. It might be worth transplanting to a better position.

    It's a pretyy shrub. Soo called as pheasant's like the berries. If you live rural you will get pheasants. I do:)
