I know this isn't everyone's idea of a great lawn, but I think they look lovely.
How would I go about getting them to establish? Could I pick some and put them on the lawn?

Try googling for wildflower seeds - I got this from doing that.

    http://www.bostonseeds.co.uk/page57.htm

Most places seem to do wildflower mixes, but this seems ok - a bit expensive for daisies, though!

You'd have to remember to cut the grass a bit higher.....

I dug a wee one up from a friends lawn (she thought I was mad - but was pleased to get rid of one!)and transplanted it into my own, where it has bloomed beautifully ever since. I have plenty burttercups looking for a new lawn if you're interested...

Actually, I haven't seen it yet this year - though there was one in my 'rockery' - my son decided to put it in a terracotta pot, as 'you wouldn't have noticed it there!' I don't think it has spread - and I suppose I'm quite pleased about that - but I honestly think that digging u[p plants is going to work out more successfully than seed - when trying to start out a wee wildflower meadl=ow - none of my seeds showed up - though a couple of wee plantlets did. There must be someone closer who can offer you their daisied lawn!
