Saw these at a garden. The whole of the tree was covered in very fine spiderweb type film. I was wondering what they were. Not sure whether these pictures will download as they weren't on my camera. I've pulled them off an email.

I had this a couple of times on a 60ft long hawthorn hedge it was covered in webs, if I am remembering rightly it was ermine moth caterpillars and they didn't cause any damage to the hedge.

Had this in a spindle tree last year.
        I've sprayed them this year.

A few years ago all leaves on Euonymus were stripped in one valley.
I have never been back to see if they survived. ERMINE MOTH ON EUONYMUS EUROPAEUS 06-06-2020 11-27-31.JPG

I left them last year and the tree was badly affected so at first sight this year I sprayed them, gone now.
