When I went to fuerteventura back in November I collected quite a few seeds.
Could anyone tell me what this is?
It has a hard shell and the seeds rattle inside

Would it be Ceratonia (Carob / Locust), Mowgley?

Don't look like a Carob, they got fleshy pods unless its really dried out.

You'm gonna have to grow it Mowgs :yikes:

Were you allowed to bring back seeds from there? :th scifD36:

    Got a piccie?

Bit of an expert on Carob since biting into one full of ants and spending the next 3 hours cutting up a bucket load to make sure there were no ants, took me 30 seconds to eat the resulting "toffee" but it was lovely :snork:

Carob seeds are much rounder than those in your photo.

I believe it to be a Flame Tree (Ponciana Regia)
Seed needs to be scarified and soaked before planting in Humic soil.
Grows a Foot a year, but will not flower until at least 12 years old images (1).jpg

I'd go with Carob. November is about the time of year they are harvested here. I have loads of trees at my river property.

I agree with Liliana and Jazzsi, looks like Delonix Regia (Poinciana) as the seeds are longer than Carob.
More likely to be Delonix as they are a popular street and garden tree in the Canaries, more so than Carob.

Defo not Carob. When I lived in Cyprus used to help locals with harvest. :sofa:

You can't make chocolate from Delonix seed pods.
Most Delonix seed pods are very long and Mowgley's shorter pod may give it a 'Carob' appearance.
