Can someone tell me what these are please and if they are wildflowers or weeds? The Bees like them
@luciusmaximus i haven't got a clue mate but you'll get it identified as you known...it's got nice flowers mate
It looks like deadnettle to me
You've got it Tetters
Although nettles are invasive dead nettles are easier to keep under control than stingers.
Does it make good soup?
Bees love it
And kids. Try gently pulling a flower off and suck the pointy end. The nectar is very sweet We used to pretend it's magic power juice to give you infinite energy and assorted magical abilities. Apparently it can also be used for soups and tea. Wikipedia link
We used to do that with Clover flowers as well as kids @luciusmaximus Red Dead Nettles - Lamium purpureum are annuals where as the taller white ones are Perennial..
for the replies. I wasn't planning on controlling the dead nettles as they are so good for the Bees. I have patches of stinging nettles too but I do try to restrict them a little or they'd take over
I got bored and painted one
I didn't know you were also an artist Zigs
Serene I stumble amidst the flowers....
Or a poet
You'll have to google that one for the rest of it, bit naughty to post here
