ID please for this self-invited guest

    The leaves are long narrow and very stiff. Pretty colour though.

    Its kinda looks like a phormium (spl) (new zealand flax) but im not sure

      It's shape at the base suggests Phormium to me too. :)

      Thanks @Dips and @Sheal . I thought it might be a phormium but because of its narrow and non-flopping leaves I started to doubt my ID.

      At your suggestion I've had a good look at photos on google images, I didn't see any photos like this self seeded one but I could see the similarity of the plant shape in some of them. So I'm happy to accept your Phormium ID:).

      Now I just need to hope that it will not develop into a 'house swamping' thug but a well behaved dainty beauty. :spinning:

        My mums small phormium doesn't flop yet its not much bigger than yours i think they must get a bit floppier when they get big
