            Far from hardy in my miserable experience of it. Which is a shame as when I grew it in a pot it was magnificent!

            Interesting. I suppose Poole is a lot further South, plus with coastal influence, but it looked well established there ...

            All the regular sites I checked were silent on it being somewhat tender, but the less well known sites agree with you, so looked like I will have to be careful. At the least they say that it needs a warm, sheltered, spot to flower well, and at the worst that they need to be lifted for the Winter (which is a bit moot given that they flower so early in the year)
