ID please

Not the best picture anybody have an idea what this is.

 

Hi Tangham,

I'm not sure but it looks like a variety of Phlox to me.

What information does it give on the label ?

 

I took the picture when I was stuck in traffic thought it looked nice.

 

Is this the same plant @tangham? I took these pictures recently when visiting a garden but I don't know what it's called, sorry.

 

That's the one I think it is Sheal. Its Phlox Paniculata.

I was about to say phlox paniculata. It is quite easy to grow (and copes with sandy soils, Sheal) Wilkos, Aldi etc often sell roots/tubers in mid spring at a very reasonable price. I bought a box from Wilkos a few years ago. It seemed as if the plant hadn't "taken", but the following year it popped up really strong, and now on its third year is v happy. Mine flowers strongly in July, I take out the spent flower-head, and we get secondary side-shoot flowers for the rest of the season.

Or could it be a Ceanothus sp.???
Not convinced that leaves are right for Phlox.

I agree, @Silver surfer, very hard to identify in the original photo. The leaves reminded me of my phlox when it's crying out for extra water....

 

Thank you but it's not me that wants it @Sian. We don't have Aldi here and Wilko's don't sell plants in any form.
